SEATTLE, Oct. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Precision Image Analysis Inc. (PIA) is pleased to announce that it presented the abstract poster “Maximizing Precision using Quantitative Certification Programs” at the International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease Congress (DOHaD). Co-authors of the abstract include Congress Chair of DOHaD 2017 and Principal Investigator of the Generation R Project Dr. Vincent Jaddoe, MD, PhD and PIA Medical Director and former President of the Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), Dr. Scott Flamm, MD, MBA, FACC, FAHA.
The DOHaD 2017 conference took place from October 15-18, 2017 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The abstract covers PIA’s methods used to maximize reproducibility in the Generation R clinical research study. The basis of PIA’s high reproducibility is its rigorous quantitative training and certification programs. These make use of PIA’s “gold standard” database of postprocessed exams, to which all analysts are compared and tested. The gold standard exams are managed and individually finalized by PIA’s Medical Director, Dr. Scott Flamm who is the certifying authority at PIA.
Also covered in the abstract is PIA’s inter- and intra-observer results from the latest branch of the Generation R clinical study covering over 3,500 MRI scans of children ages 9-12. This branch of the study includes cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), metabolic analyses for fat quantification and organ volumes including liver, kidneys, and genitalia.
“PIA’s imaging core lab capabilities, quality standards and advanced 3D image post processing more than satisfied our research needs during this large project,” Dr. Vincent Jaddoe remarked. “PIA is highly accurate and consistent. They are uniquely flexible, highly skilled and easy to work with.”
